If you are to use Stata for teaching purposes you should buy a so-called Stata Educational Lab license. These licences are sold at heavily discounted prices and can only be used for teaching purposes. The minimum-size of an Educational Lab license is a 10 user license. A 10-user Educational Lab license is a license for 10 simultaneous users. Stata may be installed on a network, or you may install Stata on 10 individual computers in a classroom.

The Educational Lab charge is a one-time charge and not an annual fee. Upgrade discounts are offered as new releases of Stata become available.
